About the Role
OpenTable's Diner Marketing team is looking for a Marketing Manager to own our local brand strategy across core U.S. markets — New York City, San Francisco, Chicago, and Los Angeles — on a 12-month, fixed-term contract covering a leave.
In this role, you'll set the local brand vision and market-specific plans for our core markets, then partner cross-functionally with marketing, communications, creative, and product to bring that strategy to life. You'll also own partnerships that are specific to individual markets, and work closely with the national brand team to plus-up national campaigns so they land authentically in each city.
This role is based in Toronto, following OpenTable's hybrid model (in-office 2 days a week).
In this role, you will:
- Own the local brand strategy for OpenTable's core markets (NYC, SF, Chicago, LA), defining how the brand shows up in each city and what success looks like locally
- Partner cross-functionally with marketing, communications, creative, sales, events, and product teams to translate local strategy into flawless execution
- Identify, negotiate, and manage market-specific partnerships (e.g., local venues, events, media, or cultural partners) that build OpenTable's brand credibility and visibility in core markets
- Partner with the national brand and campaign teams to plus-up national campaigns with a local lens — ensuring creative, media, and messaging resonate in each core market
- Analyze market performance data and diner insights to inform local strategy, prioritization, and investment
- Monitor local market trends, competitive activity, and cultural moments to surface new brand opportunities
- Represent core-market needs and opportunities in national marketing planning conversations
Please apply if:
- 7-10 years of experience in brand marketing, integrated marketing, or brand strategy — consumer brand experience highly preferred
- Strong project management skills and experience leading execution through cross-functional partners
- Experience managing external partnerships or vendor relationships, including negotiation
- Familiarity with the local nuances of major North American markets — ideally NYC, SF, Chicago, and/or LA
- Comfort balancing brand consistency with local relevance — you know when and how to adapt a national idea for a specific city
- A diplomatic, clear communicator who can quickly build trust with a new team as an incoming contractor
- Experience with project management tools such as Monday.com or JIRA
- Proficient in Google Suite
The best connections happen face-to-face, whether you’re sitting down to dinner or having coffee with a coworker. That’s why OpenTable has adopted a hybrid workplace model. This role aligns with that approach, with an expectation of coming into the office two days a week—giving employees the best of both worlds: in-person collaboration and flexibility.
The expected range of compensation for this position based in Toronto, Canada, is $115,000-$130,000 CAD. There are a variety of factors that go into determining a compensation range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required.
In addition to a competitive base salary, roles are eligible for additional compensation and benefits including: health benefits; flexible spending account; retirement benefits; life insurance; paid time off (including PTO, paid sick leave, medical leave, bereavement leave, floating holidays and paid holidays); and parental leave and benefits.
